Special heartfelt tributes to our precious brother, Joel Martin "Marty" Potter can be found in several places on our website. David and Clark, our brothers, wrote a personal and very touching Eulogy for Marty. We hope you cherish the tributes as much as our family did. Our brother, Marty was scheduled to give Pam Meyer to be married on 3 Sept 2006 to Jim McDonald.

Our brother was a wonderful person who was depended upon by many of us for his wisdom and strength. He will be missed more than anyone can imagine.

There were many friends and relatives at our brother's funeral. The suddenness of Marty's death on 10 August, 2006 was shocking and unexpected to all of us. Marty was so strong and so full of passion for life. He was not only a friend to many of us but he made those of us who interacted with him feel important and somehow he had a knack for giving wise advice and simple problem solving solutions to those of us who were fortunate enough to know him.

I can't tell you how grateful I am for those who came to our brother's funeral to say their final goodbyes to him. Marty would have loved the fact that so many people came to see him off on his last voyage to Heaven. We know that we will see him there when our time comes.

The viewing for our precious brother, Joel Martin "Marty" Potter, took place on Wednesday morning, 16 August, 2006 at 9:00 AM central time (Houston TX time) at the Pasadena Funeral Home on Pasadena Blvd, Pasadena TX between Burke and Preston.  Map To Funeral Home.

10 August 2006;

We've lost our brother, Joel Martin "Marty" Potter. He passed away at 9:25 pm central time after quadruple bypass surgery followed by complications at the Bayshore Hospital, in Pasadena, Texas. We love him so much and miss him. We will never forget our brother.

8 August 2006;

An update 1:15 pm Marty is out of surgery and in recovery. Things look good as far as the nurses know. We will update further as we hear from the doctors.

An update 10:00 am Surgery was delayed due to lateness of one of Marty's doctors. His surgery began at about 10:15 am.

7:00 am central time zone; To all our friends, family and visitors: Please remember our Brother, Joel Martin Potter in your prayers. He is going in for major surgery this morning at 7:00 am central time. We will post his condition as we hear from his doctors. Our love and prayers go out to our brother, Marty.
