OBITUARY OF DOUGLAS FAIRBANKS "BANKS" BENTLEY
Douglas Fairbanks Bentley, son of the late Andrew Jackson Bentley and Maryland (Burke) Bentley, was born at Eddy, Kentucky on August 25, 1927. He passed from this life at the Whitesburg Hospital, Whitesburg, Kentucky on Saturday, March 6, 1993, making his stay here on earth 65 years, 6 months and 11 days.

Banks, as most everyone knew him, has been ill for the past several months, but his passing was sudden and unexpected. Besides his parents, one sister, Annie Elkins, also preceded him in death.

Banks married Betty Jo Mullins at Neon, Kentucky on April 11, 1951. He was a retired miner, having worked in the coal fields for over 32 years. He has been a member of the United Mine Workers of America for well over 22 years.

Banks is survived by his wife Betty Jo of Jackhorn, Ky; daughter: Anita Dale Issac of Jackhorn, Ky; sons: Travis, Chuck, Mike, Roy Dale and Tim, all of Jackhorn, Ky; sisters: Hazel May Johnson of Eddy, Ky; Barbara Ellen Strange of Letart, W.Va.; Janie Marie Yarber of Loraine, Ohio; and brother: William Thomas Bentley of Jackhorn.

Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
