The Following Written by Ellen Fischle Chamberlin: Somewhere in there we are related. William Riley Bentley came to this country through Charleston Harbor in 1702. My Grandfather had the same name (William Riley Bentley) and came from the Cumberland Gap and married Bertha Robertson from Kentucky. William could not work in the coal mines because of black lung disease and got a teaching certificate and was a traveling teacher. He met Bertha, they married and because of his health they moved to California. He got a job as an engineer with the AT&SF and ended up in Albuquerque where he ran a stationary RR engine for a lumber mill. They had 3 live children from 1917 through 1928. Bertha died in childbirth in 1933. My mother was the last live birth in 1928.  William died in 1966 of a heart attack. All three children are still living. Irene Bentley Luther, Bernice Bentley Clark and Betty Bentley Fischle, all of Albuquerque, New Mexico. I can get lots more info if this is of interest to you. Your website is wonderful. Thank you.
