Stella Mae Burke Holbrook age 101 passed away Monday, Nov. 15th, 2010 at her home. Stella was born on Feb. 20th, 1909 to her parents the late Daniel Boone Burke and Susan Hall Burke. She was the wife of the late William "Bill" Holbrook, a homemaker, and a member of the Old Regular Baptist for 55 years.

Along with her husband and parents, Stella was preceded in death by two sons, Ellis Holbrook and Kenneth Wayne Holbrook, and three daughters, Draxie Bailey, Mary Marie Holbrook, and Judith Ann Jones Phillips.

Stella is survived by four sons, Charles Edward (Geneva) Holbrook, James Earl (JoAnn) Holbrook, William B. (Vernice) Holbrook Jr., John Curtis (Samantha) Holbrook, three daughters, Betty Ruth Hobbs, Carolyn Lynn (David) Gilliam, and Cathy Gail (Dean) Harville, twenty-nine grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Special services will be Wednesday and Thursday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Friday Nov. 19th, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Island Creek Old Regular Baptist Church with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. The burial will follow in the Holbrook Family Cemetery.
