Barilla (Jones) Caudill was the daughter of John H. and Mahala (Gilliam) Jones. She married Henry Caudill on July 1, 1895, in Letcher County, KY. They had two children: William McKinley Caudill and Jesse Caudill. Barilla and Henry died within two months of each other leaving their two small children as orphans. Henry's sister, Rebecca (Caudill) Webb, took them in and raised them as her own.

Henry Caudill was the son of Jesse B. and Mary "Polly" (Back) Caudill. He married first to Rachel Roberts on February 24, 1876, in Letcher County, KY. Rachel died four months later. Henry married second to Barilla Jones on July 1, 1895, in Letcher County, KY. They had two children: William McKinley Caudill and Jesse Caudill. Henry and Barilla died within two months of each other leaving their two small children as orphans. Henry's sister, Rebecca (Caudill) Webb, took them in and raised them as her own. Henry's headstone says that he was born "Nov. 15, 1856"; however, other sources give his birth date as December 16, 1855.
