Source Notes:
After marriage, Dow (Cook) farmed until 1936 when he took over the store which
his father started at the forks of Dry Creek. His brother "Dabber" had been
operating the store for some years. In 1938 Dow and Annie moved to Buckingham
(Bevinsville) (Floyd Co.) and operated a general store there until 1942. At
that time, they moved to Keavy (Laurel Co.), KY, near Dow's brother Crit, and
farmed for two years. In 1944 they moved to Lancer (near Prestonsburg) (Floyd
Co.), KY and operated a general store for a short time. Later in 1944 they
moved to Adams (Lawrence Co.), KY where Dow farmed and then was a rural mail
carrier 1948-52. They remained in Lawrence Co. the rest of their lives.
