This is my great grandfather, Christopher Columbus Dixon 12 November 1864 – 27 July 1904 Christopher Columbus Dixon was the son of Isaac Dixon and Elizabeth Banks of Elk Creek near Blackey. He married Elizabeth Cornett, daughter of Robert Bustard Cornett (1798) and Louisa Combs (1803) of Perry Co. Christopher and his cousin Wilburn Dixon courted the two Cornett sisters who they met when they traveled down to Hazard floating logs from Letcher Co. Christopher and Elizabeth lived in the old Cornett homestead in a log house at Christopher on the banks of the North fork of the Kentucky River.

Columbus had two brothers, William Banks Dixon and John Banks Dixon but they moved to Arkansas
