Thomas Boatright

Notes

1. Thomas Boatright

I have first found Thomas Boatwright in 1733 in Henrico County, Virginia. He purchased 322 acres on the Tuckahoe Creek for 1.515 Pounds. At this time it appears his neighbors are Richard Wade and Nicholas Cox. In 1735 a Mr. John Watson received land on the North Side of James River adjacent to Thomas Boatright. Also mentioned in New Kent County is an Elizabeth Boateright and John Boatwright. (Cavaliers and Poneers, Abstracts of VA Land Patents and Grants, Vol IV, pg 10)

Although it is not conclusive that Thomas is the father of Daniel it appears logical. He may ahve also had a son named James.

In reference to Thomas Boatright I have found the following:

Cavaliers & Pioneers, Abstracts of VA Land Patents and Grants, Vol IV, 1732-1741. VA Genealogical Society, edited by Denis Hudgins on page 3 and 81.

Thomas Boatwright, 322 acrs NL in Henrico Co. on brs of Tuckahoe Cr. adj Nicholas Cox and Richd. Wade, 20 June 1733. (pg 10) 1.515 Pounds.

John Watson, 395 Acres in Henrico Co. on N. side James River adj Mr. Holland and Thomas Boatwright 9 Aug 1735. (Patent Book #16)

Other names mentioned in this book are Elizabeth Boateright, John Boatwright (Vol II, pg 267) in New Kent Co., and a Mr. Boatright (Vol II pg 166).

There is a possibility that he had a son named James. Appearing in the book "Virginia Land Grants" (for full citation see notes of Daniel Boatright b. abt 1735)
