Abraham Barger

As reported by Mae Stevenson, Mt. Dora, FL, the Barger name is of German ancestry and was cha nged from STEAMBARGER.

Moved to KY from VA in 1810. They first settled on the North Fork of the Kentucky River, on w hat today is known as Barger Branch, just below Grapevine Creek. Some years later they crosse d the hill to Middlefork River and this farm has been in the Barger family since 1820.
