Dear Gone South, The information for entry 30093 My mother Mary Belle Tackett is incorrect. She was born May 6, 1915. Her deceased daughters name (female not male) was Mavis Berrylene. Her parents were Martha Jane Keathley Tackett and Robert Tackett. Her mother died in 1936 and father around 1953 I believe. Her next marriage was to Robert Newsom with which she had two sons. Donald Ray and Larry Douglas Newsom. Her third marriage was to my father Jake Reynolds son of Jefferson Reynolds. I am Lola Geraldine Reynolds Arzillo and I have a brother who recently passed Dec. 10,2003 Austin Darrel Reynolds. My brother Larry also passed Feb. 2,1998. Thank you in advance for correcting this. Laura Mae Hall
Age 89, of Grethel, died Friday, January 1, 1998, at McDowell Appalachian Regional Hospital. Born May 20, 1908 in Floyd County, she was the daughter of the late Sylvester Vance and Mary Alice Elliott Vance. She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Hall. Survivors include three sons, Elmer Hall of Dayton, Ohio. Palmer Hall and Norman "Bob" Hall, both of Grethel; two brothers, Ernest Vance and Noah Vance, both of Beaver; two sisters, Maudie Hall of Orethel and Maggie Wheatley of Idaho; 32 grandchildren and 53 great- grandchildren. Funeral services were Monday, January 5, at 11 a.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, with the Church of Christ ministers officiating. Burial was in the Hall Cemetery at Grethel, under the direction of Hall Funeral Home, Martin.

Sharlene Osborne died peacefully early Sunday morning, Aug. 22, 2010.
She was born Sept. 3, 1935 in McDowell Ky., to Noah and Ella Mae Hall and attended local school. In 1952, she married Rufus Osborne in McDowell and they shared 23 years together before he was taken from her in an accident. Sharlene remained a widow who focused her energy on raising her eight children in whom she took great pride.
She is survived by her children, Ellen (Duncan) Preston, Jimmie (Carol) Osborne, Rufus Osborne Jr., Ronnie (Char) Osborne, Darlene (Jeff) Beckett, Danny Ray Osborne, Billy (Kristie) Osborne, and Sheri Osborne; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Sharlene worked most of her life and enjoyed cooking at Crest Nursing Home, housekeeping at Comfort Inn, and at Fairmont RV, where she made many friends and loved her job. She enjoyed simple things such as reading books, taking rides in the rain, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her granddaughter Stephanie summed up the essence of her grandmother, "She always made people feel welcome, always made sure everyone was okay, would go
to great lengths for her family, and unconditionally loved all who loved her."
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Osborne Sr.; parents; granddaughter, Monica Preston; and brother, Arnold Hall.
She is also survived by her sisters, Billie June Gochneaur of Ohio, Betty Mae Hall of Butte, Joan Daniels of McDowell, Ky.; special friends, Al and Joan Colgrove; and her very special friend and care-giver, Delsa Daniels.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday in Duggan Dolan Mortuary with interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Crackerville, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Rufus.
Her son Ron phrased it best when he stated: "She didn't always give us everything we wanted. But she did give us everything we needed."
"Mom, you will be missed, loved and remembered forever."

Mr. OSBORNE, an Anaconda Co. foreman, was killed Thursday afternoon when his pickup truck was crushed by a 150-ton ore truck in the Berkeley Pit. He was born 21 June 1932, in Dony, Kentucky. He came to Butte in 1965, where he worked as a contract miner. He became a driver in 1966 and had been a foreman since 1972. Mr. Osborne was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He married his wife, Sharlene, in 1952 in Kentucky. She suvives, as do daughters, Ellen Preston, Darlene and Sheri OSBORNE; sons, Jim, Rufus Jr., Ronny, Daney and Billy, all of Butte; brother Edgle of Ohio, and Clearance Enos; sisters, Aggie Page, Maxie Tackett and Stellie Hall, all of Kentucky, and two grandchildren. Burial will be Sunset Memorial Gardens."
5866. Jimmie Osborne
Jim Osborne was born in McDowell, Kentucky. on Jan. 15, 1955. He died Jan. 28, 2011, in Reno, Nevada.
He moved to Butte when he was 10, graduating from Butte High. He completed one year of vo-tech school in mechanics. He then served four years in the U.S. Army in Germany, leaving with an honorable discharge.
He moved to Battle Mountain, Nev., starting his mining career as a truck driver for Echo Bay. After five years, he moved to Round Mountain and his present job as a truck driver and trainer with Round Mountain Gold. Jim enjoyed 12 years with this company.
Jim's favorite things to do were to fish and hunt, ride his four-wheeler, spend time with his dogs and his friends \emdash and not to forget the two loves of his life: spending time with his wife of 27 years, Carol, and riding his Harley.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Carol;
sisters, Ellen (Duncan) Preston, Sherry (Dave) Wies and Darlene (Jeff) Beckett; sisters-in-law, Marilyn (Jim) Marhon, Darla (John) Carson, Ruth (Al) Owens and Dianne Rinaldi; brothers-in-law, Leon Docken and Leland Docken; mother-in-law, Ellen Docken; brothers, Rufus Osborne, Billy (Kristie) Osborne, Ronnie (Cher) Osborne and Danny Osborne;
Preceding Jim in death were his parents, Rufus and Sharlene Osborne; father-in-law, Fred Docken;and niece, Monica Preston.Jim had many friends and will be sadly missed. His ashes will be laid to rest, with his parents, in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery west of Butte.
Services are 2 p.m. Thursday, March 10, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.

She was born Sept. 3, 1935 in McDowell Ky., to Noah and Ella Mae Hall and attended local school. In 1952, she married Rufus Osborne in McDowell and they shared 23 years together before he was taken from her in an accident. Sharlene remained a widow who focused her energy on raising her eight children in whom she took great pride.
She is survived by her children, Ellen (Duncan) Preston, Jimmie (Carol) Osborne, Rufus Osborne Jr., Ronnie (Char) Osborne, Darlene (Jeff) Beckett, Danny Ray Osborne, Billy (Kristie) Osborne, and Sheri Osborne; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Sharlene worked most of her life and enjoyed cooking at Crest Nursing Home, housekeeping at Comfort Inn, and at Fairmont RV, where she made many friends and loved her job. She enjoyed simple things such as reading books, taking rides in the rain, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her granddaughter Stephanie summed up the essence of her grandmother, "She always made people feel welcome, always made sure everyone was okay, would go
to great lengths for her family, and unconditionally loved all who loved her."
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Osborne Sr.; parents; granddaughter, Monica Preston; and brother, Arnold Hall.
She is also survived by her sisters, Billie June Gochneaur of Ohio, Betty Mae Hall of Butte, Joan Daniels of McDowell, Ky.; special friends, Al and Joan Colgrove; and her very special friend and care-giver, Delsa Daniels.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday in Duggan Dolan Mortuary with interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Crackerville, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Rufus.
Her son Ron phrased it best when he stated: "She didn't always give us everything we wanted. But she did give us everything we needed."
"Mom, you will be missed, loved and remembered forever."

Daughter of Elder Forrest (son of Melvin and Delia Hall McCown) and Mabel Tackett McCown died at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington, Fayette Co.,KY. Elizabeth went to school Feb.14 came back home sick and was taken to McDowell Hospital, they sent her to Lexington,KY. She arrived at Lexington about 12:30 am Feb.15 1972, she lay there in pain for about 6 hours and no doctor would come and see her until the next morning. When he came she was dead. Mable her mother was sitting beside her bed, she thought Elizabeth had fallen asleep.
