He was born in Floyd County, Kentucky, on April 28, 1942, the son of William and Mattie (Moore) Blankenship. He married Mary Conley Blankenship on May 4 1963, in Rome City, Indiana. He was a member and deacon at the Church of the True God in South Milford. He was employed at Indiana Builders Mfg. in Middlebury. He is survived by his wife, Mary Blankenship of South Milford. Other survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Julie Blankenship of Rome, City; daughter and son-in-law, Delores and Bill Forbes of Kendallville; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Tracy Spriggs of South Milford; four grandchildren, Katie Forbes, Lauren Forbes, Holly Blankenship and Caleb Blankenship; four sisters, Elcie Gayheart of LaGrange, Maxie Stambaugh of Mongo, Tina Bolton of Wolcottville, and Alley Wiley of Duck Lake, Michigan; two brothers, Eddie Blankenship of Wolcottville, and Levi Blankenship of Floyd County, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Ellie, Delpha and Annie; three brothers, Henry, Mitch, and Condy; and three infant siblings. Visitation was held Friday, at the Church of the True God, State Hwy. 3, north of South Milford. A church service was held at 7 p.m., Friday night. Funeral services were held on Saturday, at 1 p.m., at the Church of the True God, with Revs. Sam Sawyer and Birtchell Mosley Jr., officiating. Burial was at the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery, LaGrange County. Memorials are suggested to the family. Hite Funeral Home, in Kendallville, was in charge of the arrangements. (FCT'S)

The funeral is today, September 6, at 11 a.m., at the Samaria Old Regular Baptist Church at Teaberry, with ministers of the Old Regular Baptist faith officiating. VIRGIE - Intha Wright Burke of Beefhide Creek, KY died at her home on July 19, 2008. Intha was born at Mc Roberts, KY on December 7, 1927 the daughter of King Solomon Wright and Mary Elizabeth Brown Wright. She is survived by two sons; Randy (Patricia) Burke of Beefhide and Michael (Sona) Burke of Beefhide, three daughters; Sandy Gasner of Beefhide, Sheila (Dennis) Sampson of Jenkins, KY and Karen Murphy of Pikeville, KY. She is survived by 9 grandchildren and 2 great -grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Burke , and one son, Jerry Burke. She was preceded in death by four brothers; Jesse Wright, Ken Wright, Paul Wright, and Grant (Emma) Wright of Prattville, Alabama, two sisters; Lorraine (Elmer) Burke, and Martha Jo Tackett, both of Virgie. Intha was a faithful member of the Beefhide First Alliance Church. Funeral services will be held 1pm Tue at the First Alliance Church with Peter Leonovich officiating. Burial will follow in the John Cook Cemetery of Beefhide. Visitation will begin after 6pm Sun, services 7pm Mon. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hall & Jones Funeral Home of Virgie.
