Obituary of Basil Hall, son of the late Cooney and Minerva Hall was born at Deane, Letcher County, Kentucky on August 10, 1912. He passed from this life suddenly and unexpectedly on Sunday, January 2, 1994 making his stay here on earth 81 years, 4 months and 22 days. Basil married Amanda Johnson at Whitaker, Kentucky on July 22, 1935. Basil was a retired coal miner having worked for over 29 years in the coal fields. He has been a member of the U.M.W.A. for over 50 years. He has also been a Christian and member of the Hemphill Church of Christ for 41 years. He is survived by his wife, Amanda, of Jackhorn, Kentucky; daughter, Harlene Ferrand of Greenwood, IN; grandson, Anthony E Ferrand of Indianapolis, IN; great granddaughters, Amanda L Ferrand and Andrea C Ferrand; sisters, Matilda Brown of Fort Pierce FL, Georgia Rose and Mildred Collier both of Wise, VA; brothers, Leonard Hall and Samp Hall Jr., both of Pekin, IN; Robert E Hall of Jackhorn, KY; Urias Hall of Jackson, OH. Also surviving are a host of other relatives and friends. He was loved and respected by everyone that knew him and his family will miss him and always love him. Funeral Services for Basil Hall will be conducted at the Banks Funeral Home, Fleming-Neon, Kentucky on Wednesday, January 5, 1994 at 11:00 am. Pallbearers will be relatives and friends. Officiating Minister, Robert E Hall. Burial will follow in the Hemphill Cemetery, Jackhorn, Letcher County, Kentucky. Arrangements handled by Banks Funeral Home, Fleming-Neon, Kentucky.
