1. William Howard Little b 1872 Pike Co KY. About 1895 killed a man in Pike Co. named Jake KINNEY. He was given a life sentence, stayed in prison 7 or 8 years. Started preaching while in prison. Hanged 1907 for murdering a Justice family of Buchanan Co, VA, killed 13 people with an ax and burned their house. The Justices had received a large sum of money from Ritter Lumber Co & Howard delivered check to them. Was hung on the evidence that they found blood on his lantern. Family reports he came home and his shoes & socks were covered with blood & he threw them in the fireplace. He was a big wheel in the coal mine union and it had something to do with that. William Howard Little m. Elizabeth HALL d/o John Wash Hall (The Little family at Morton, Wash. said they went west because of shame that their brother was hanged in public square in WV (or Va).
