Robert Lee Mullins m. 17 Jun 1940 to Ruby Iris Jackie Kilgore b 15 Jul 1922 Dysartville, NC d Friday, 14 Oct 2011; d/o Mitchell Clayton Kilgore and Peggy Addington. During the 1930's and 1940's Robert Lee Mullins was known as Boxing Bob Kelly because he was a prize fighter. Children of Robert Lee Mullins and Ruby Iris Jackie Kilgore;

Obituary of Ruby Iris Kilgore Mullins
July 15, 1922 - Friday, Oct. 14, 2011

RUBY IRIS MULLINS, 89 ROCKFORD - Ruby Iris Mullins, 89, left her earthly body Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, at Alpine Fireside Health Center. Born July 15, 1922, in Dysartville, N.C, daughter of Mitchell Clayton and Peggy (Addington) Kilgore. Ruby devoted her life to God and her family. She loved reading, quilting, fishing and being outdoors. Her passion for gardening garnered her a certificate of merit award in 2009 for Yard of the Year by the Victory Homes Board of Directors. Her beautiful flowers provided much joy for all who lived around her. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and tending her roses. Ruby married Robert Lee Mullins on June 17, 1940, in Kentucky; he died Dec. 10, 1992. Survivors include children, John (Jean) Mullins, Larry (Jo) Mullins, Audrey (Bill) Treu, Buddy (June) Mullins, Diane (Leo) Hopkins, Mitchell Mullins and Edward (Joyce) Mullins; brother, Robert Kilgore; sister, Violet Smedgar; 27 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; 24 great-great-grandchildren. Also predeceased by daughters, Peggy Iris Mullins and Loraine Pruitt; granddaughters, Peggy Kay Treu, Michelle Pruitt, Talina Hopkins and Barbara Sue Taylor; great- grandson, Tommy Sims. The family extends special thanks to Ruby's second family for the past two years, the "angel" caregivers of Alpine Fireside Health Center, for their wonderful devoted love and caring. At Ruby's request, private graveside service Wednesday, Oct. 19, will be in Scandinavian Cemetery. Arrangements by Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel.
