Harrison Newsom Newsome b 1775 d 1836 Pike Co KY; s/o Lewis Newsom Newsome and Pamela Newsom. Harrison Newsome m. 2 Sep 1802 Rowan Co NC to Mary Margaret " Peggy" Lowe b 1780 Rowan Co NC; d/o Frederick Lowe and Mary "Polly" Lowe. Harrison Newsom was the first Kentucky Newsom, having moved from the ancestral Newsom roots of Virginia and North Carolina to Pike County, Kentucky in about 1815. He established two families there - one with his wife "Peggy" Lowe, and the other with a mistress, Polly Kinney. Hartwell "Will" Newsome m. 13 Mar 1831 Pike Co KY to 2nd Sarah Sally Tolley (aka Tolby, Trolley, Toley) b 1815 NC, d/o Elcany Tolley and Frances Barnett. Sarah's father, Elkany Tolley is 97 years of age in the 1850 Pike Co KY Census Census in the household with Hartwell "Will" Newsome and Sarah Sally Tolley.

Harrison Newsom Newsome b 1775 d 1836 Pike Co KY s/o Lewis Newsom Newsome and Pamela Newsom. Harrison Newsome never married Polly Kinney b 1795 d 1876 Pike Co KY. Mistress of Harrison Newsome. As tradition would have it Harrison Newsome brought Polly Kinney from North Carolina to his home in Kentucky. Polly lived with Harrison and his family but when it was evident she was pregnant Harrison's wife threw Polly out. She returned to North Carolina and gave birth to John. Harrison followed her and brought her back to Kentucky where he built her a cabin. Children of Harrison Newsome and Polly Kinney;
