born stillborn at home. Thursie Potter helped in the delivery. Patricia was
buried by her parents without the assistance of a funeral home. No birth or
death certificate was issued. Patricia's grave is marked by a gravestone put in
place by her parents. Information given orally by Danola Potter to Darren Potter
in Summer 2003. Buried Wright-Collier Cemetery, Neon Letcher Co KY.

Obituary: Mr. Virgil J. Potter, 83, of Michigan
City, died Sunday, April 30, 2006, at 4:30 a.m. at Life Care Center, Michigan
City. He was born April 27, 1923, in Neon, Ky., to Sherman and Thursie (Akers)
Potter, and had also lived in Jenkins, Ky. Mr. Potter was employed with Ford
Motor Co. for more than 30 years in Detroit and Ohio. He was a U.S. Army veteran
of World War II, having served in the European Theater and the Battle of the
Bulge. He was a dedicated Christian for more than 46 years, and a member of Full
Gospel House of Prayer. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and
grandfather. On Dec. 29, 1945, in Neon, he married Danola Quillen, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Ronald of Winston Salem, N.C., and Joseph (Delores)
of Ravenna, Ohio; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Phyllis Duty and Elia Meade;
and three brothers, Clifford, Sherman and Anderson. Preceding him in death were
his parents; one sister, Mabel Lawson; and one brother, Cecil. The funeral will
be held in Jenkins, Ky., at a later date. Visitation will be held at Full Gospel
House of Prayer, Michigan City, today from 2 to 6 p.m. Burial will be in
Jenkins, Letcher Co KY.
Obituary: Danola Quillen Potter: Services
are held for Danola Potter: Danola Quillen Potter, 85, formerly of Neon,
Kentucky; died May 31 2010 in Winston Salem, N.C. A daughter of the late Henry
and Martha Jane Hall Quillen, she was the widow of Vigil Joseph Potter. She was
also preceded in death by brothers Joe, Monroe and Daniel, and sisters Betty
Jean, Nanny, Netta, Maggie and Hattie. She was an evangelist for the Church of
God for more than 48 years. Surviving are two sons, Ronald Potter of Clemmons,
N.C., and Joel Potter of Ravenna, Oh.; two sisters, Nellean Bentley of Neon, and
Hedi Ann Potter, Brookpark, Oh.; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held June 4 at the Fleming Church of God. Burial was in
the Potter Cemetery at Goose Creek, Kentucky. Cary Funeral Home of Fleming-Neon
had charge of arrangements.
