Obituary - Barbara E. Quillen, 74, of Lynn, Greenup Co Ky., died Sunday, March 28, 2004, at her home. Mrs. Quillen was born March 19, 1930, in York, Ky., a daughter of the late William S. and Nina B. Flannery Parsons. She was a member of Wurtland Missionary Baptist Church, was an accomplished seamstress and quiltmaker, and helped to organize and guide the Lynn Quiltmakers into the success they are today. One of the joys of her life in her late years was to volunteer to help the Kentucky Baptist Home for Children at the Morehead Center. She was also very active in the Operation Christmas Child. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dena Gail Quillen. Surviving are her husband, Glennis E. Quillen; two sons, Keith Quillen of Iron Station, N.C., and Mark Quillen of Rose City, Mich.; one brother, Lowell Parsons of Greenup, Ky.; one sister, Blanche Talingdan of St. Petersburg, Fla.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by the Rev. Jack Edwards. Burial will be in Quillen Cemetery in Lynn (Greenup Co KY). Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and one hour before the funeral on Wednesday at the funeral home
