Obituary: Mazel Sexton Sr, age 56 of Jackhorn, Letcher Co KY, passed away February 28, 2007. He was born at Hemphill, Letcher Co, KY. He was loved by many for his generous nature. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Sexton, a son, James Ross Sexton, 3 brothers, Kirwood Potter, Ross Sexton and Thurmon Potter; 4 sisters, Bernice Brown, Betty Sexton, Rita Sexton and Geraldine Sexton. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ann Williams Sexton, Jackhorn, KY; a daughter, Christy Sexton, Jackhorn, KY; 3 sons, Richard Sexton, Paint Lick, KY, Mazel Sexton Jr Big Stone Gap VA and Manzel Sexton, Newport, KY; nine grand children, including Betty Tackett Whitaker; one great grandchild, and his mother, Lucy Potter; 3 sisters, Sandra Lightsey, Odessa, TX, Mozel Greenstreet, Fredericksburg, VA and Judy Fields of Premium, KY.

Funeral services for Lucy Potter, 86, were held May 27, 2008 at the Seco Freewill Baptist Church, Seco, Letcher Co KY. Burial was in the Potter Cemetery at Fleming, Letcher Co KY.

Born in Letcher County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Mckinley and Dora Mullins Potter, and the mother of the late Thurman Potter, Curwood Potter, Mazel Sexton, Ross Sexton, and Bernice Brown. She died May 23, 2008 at Jenkins Community Hospital, Jenkins, Letcher Co KY.

Surviving are a daughter, Sandra Lightsey, Odessa, Tex.; a stepdaughter, Mozella Greenstreet, Fredericksburg, Va.; a brother, Can Potter, Dandridge, Tenn.; two sisters, Goldie Collier, Evansville, Ind., and Sarah Bell Fleming, Indiana; 30 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
