Thomas divorced or abandoned Susannah and children for 2nd women Sarah Riddle. They had son James Stewart March 1, 1888 in Donnager, WV. James Stewart died Oct. 31, 1978 Ft. Gay, Wayne Co., West Va. Going by James' birth date, Tom marrying Laura Mullins Oct. 29, 1887 in Clay Co., WV., and Sarah marrying William Hill Oct. 3, 1888 Clay Co., WV., Tom & Laura's child James M. Stewart born Dec. 1887, Tom & Sarah could not have been married and if Tom did not divorce Susan left in Pike Co., KY., then Tom's other marriages were not legal.

William R. Stewart married Mary Hall on June 30, 1898 in Pike Co.,KY., daughter of John & Rachel (Meade) Hall of Letcher Co., Ky. Will & Mary had John Riley Stewart born Dec. 7, 1900 in Deane, Letcher Co., KY. died April 24, 1978 in Mayking, Letcher Co., Ky., and daughter Cosby Stewart born Feb., 15,1900 (per ssn application, not right), died 1985. Cosby listed as born Nov. 1897 in June 1900 census, her born before the marriage of parents. Listed born Feb. 15, 1900 on her birth certificate. Cosby lied about her birth her entire life as did John R. for her to hide the fact that she was born out of wedlock, but John R. claimed she was his full sister and did not claim William his older brother as full brother (he was William Hall child of Mary and John Hall out of wedlock).

John Riley Stewart first married Virgie Baisden, daughter of Thomas & Emma Baisden of Mingo Co. , West VA. They divorced and John R., later remarried, with no children from 2nd marriage. John & Virgie had Lemma Stewart (she went by Lemiel Stewart on all her records), born May 15, 1929 in Mingo Co., West VA., married April 19, 1947 in Pikeville Court House, Pike Co., KY., to Ermal Stanley born Dec. 12, 1925, Piso (Brushy Creek), Pike Co., KY., died June 28, 1998 in Melvindale, Wayne Co., MI., at home of cancer. Ermal was oldest child of Ireland and Pernie (Stanley) Stanley of Brushy Creek, Pike Co., Ky. Ermal served aboard the USS Hudson, a destroyer in WWII, Pacific. He went into the Army Air Force after the war and it turned into the US AirForce, which he retired from in 1967. As of July 2002, Lemiel still lives in their home in, MI., 2 houses away from Ermal' s brother Dennis & Margie (Isaac) Stanley.

BIOGRAPHY mother's married name does not make since (sense) or match records, 1900 list her born Jan. 1843 ? Not sure if widowed or when Tom Stewart died in West Va. Could have been already deceased. John & Bob Stewart are her sons.
