Alexander M. Trent, Private Company E. 7th Battalion Confederate Cavalry, under Colonel Prentiss. Also served as a Private in the 129th Virginia Infantry Militia , Buchanan' Company. Found on the Confederate Pensioners list as certfield to the Commissioner of Pensions by the Wise County Court on July 25, 1900 living in Virginia City. Filed for a Confederate Pension on September 15, 1903 while a resident of Virginia City, near St. Paul, Virginia stating that he was 60 years old, born In Grayson County, Va. "He states that in 1862 he took sick with fever" He states that he enlisted at Guest River in Prentiss' command under Colonel Giltner and Captain Chase and served about 3 years. He states that S. Bundy ? of Virginia City and John May of Coeburn can attest to his service, Thomas Willis and George E. Buchanan, both attest to his service in the 7th. Alexander was born 1844 in Grayson County, Virginia, son of Thomas and Amy E. Trent. He married on July 25, 1866 in Gladesville, Wise County, Virginia to MARY FRANCES QUILLEN, born 1845 in Sullivan County, Tennessee, daughter of Elisha and Ruth Quillen.
