James Elmon Webb Sr., 79, of Elizabethtown, (KY) died Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville. (Jefferson Co KY).
He was a native of Ermine (KY) and a member of Bible Baptist Church in Radcliff.
He retired after 20 years from the U. S. Air Force, having served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
He also retired from Kerr McGee Coal Corp. in Gillette, Wyo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Isom Bert and Martha Haynes Webb; and a son, David Webb.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Ester Norlin Webb; two sons, James E. (Lana) Webb Jr. of Gillette, Wyo., and Paul J. (Clorie) Webb of Surprise, Ariz.; two daughters, Vonda F. Webb of Elizabethtown and Marinda L. (Mike) Ireland of Nashville, Tenn.; two brothers, Van Webb of Ermine and Carl D. Webb of Shelbyville; two sisters, Louise Addington and Nannie Lois Pease, both of Ermine; three grandchildren, Zachary Webb, Erika Webb and Conor James Ireland; and one great-grandchild, Canyon Lee Webb.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bible Baptist Church in Radcliff with Dr. Thomas Green officiating.
Burial with military honors will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff (KY).
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hardin Christian Academy, 156 Shelby Avenue, Radcliff, KY 40160.
