- Attended Interlochen Center for the Arts - This is a boarding HS in Traverse City, Michigan for gifted artists. His study was in playing the French Horn.
- Attended University of Michigan School of Music on a full scholarship
- Played in the San Antonio Symphony, The Santa Fe Symphony, and then played as the principal horn in the Denver Symphony. Also played in smaller groups like the Centennial Philharmonic in later years. Has played venues from Carnegie Hall to the Grand ole Opry.
- Was a self taught and very successful computer programmer, owning his own consulting company.
