Obituary: Madge Lee Huffman Potter

Madge Lee Huffman Potter passed away on Friday after an extended illness at the age of ninety four. Born at Kehoe, Kentucky on February 8, 1914, the daughter of the late Milton Huffman and Winifred Lee Duncan Huffman. Her husband Mila Potter, son of the late George and Cynthia Ousley Potter preceded her in death. She lived in Greenup County all of her life and was lovingly nicknamed "Hollywood" by her friends. Madge is survived her daughter Shirley Louise Potter Logan and husband Forrest "Sonny" Logan of Warnock, two grandsons Glen Paul Logan and wife Robin Stephens Logan of Ashland, Eric Jamil Logan and wife Valerie Jan Frazier Logan of Warnock.

Madge had Five Great Grandchildren; Erica Blain Logan Robinson and husband Michael, Karissa Raynell Logan, Forrest Blake Logan, and Lakota Marie Logan all of Warnock, Christopher Ray Logan and wife Michelle of Georgetown. In addition, she had Four Great-Great Grandchildren; Hunter Logan of Georgetown, Jacob, Ethan and Aiden Robinson of Warnock. She attended Antioch Christian Church that her Great Grandparents helped establish it in 1892. Her funeral will be at 1:00 PM Monday at Wright's Funeral Home in Greenup KY with Brother Kail Ruffner officiating. Burial will follow in the Warnock Cemetery in Warnock Kentucky. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM till the time of the service on Monday.

Shirley Louise Potter Logan passed away at her home on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, after an extended illness at the age of 75. She was born in Ashland on Dec. 29, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Mila Potter and Madge Lee Huffman Potter. Shirley was a life member of Electa 3, Order of Eastern Star, in Greenup and a mamber of Antioch Christian Church and the Kentucky State Poetry Society. She was a Kentucky colonel. Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Forrest "Sonny" Logan; two sons, Eric J. Logan and his wife, Jan, of Warnock and Glen P. Logan and his wife, Robin, of AShland; two grandsons, Forrest Blake Logan of Warnock and Christopher R. Logan of Georgetown; three granddaughters, Erica B. Robinson and her husband, Michael, of Lloyd, Karissa R. Logan of Chesapeake and Lakota M. Logan of Warnock; and four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Ethan and Aidan Robinson of Lloyd and Hunter A. Logan of Georgetown.

There will be a celebration of Shirley's life at 1 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2012, at Wright's Funeral Home in Greenup by Brother Kail Ruffner. Burial will be in Hall Cemetery at Warnock. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home Condolences may be sent to wrightsfuneralhome.com.
