(Source (not working - 7 Sept 2013)). John M "Skipper" Potter had his own boat and delivered goods into the Washington Co NC area before Tennessee became a state in 1796. Because of his ownership of the boat, he had the nickname of Skipper. Children of John M "Skipper" Potter and Hannah Tidwell;
