Birth: Apr. 10, 1938 Death: Jun. 4, 2012. Harvey Gene Elkins, age 74, passed away Monday, June 4, 2012, at his home. Harvey was born on April 10, 1938, to his parents the late Sol Elkins and Dovie Belcher Elkins. He was the husband of the late Eliza Forestine Vanover Elkins, a retired coal miner for Trojan Mining, and a member of the Freewill Baptist. Along with is wife and parents, Harvey was preceded in death by one son, William Elkins. Harvey is survived by one son, Joseph Wall of Nicholasville, Ky., four daughters, Donna Sehorne of Winchester, Ky., Dianna Ratliff of Jenkins, Ky., honda Kennedy of Jenkins, Ky., Joelene Elkins of Jenkins, Ky., three sisters, Nora Belcher, Mollie Stanley, Cora Stanley, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Funeral services will be 12 noon Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at Burdine Freewill Baptist Church, with Teddy Tackett and Bennie McCall officiating. Burial will follow in the Vanover Cemetery at Jenkins, Kentucky.

She was the wife of Harvey Gene Elkins, a homemaker, and a member of the Burdine Freewill Baptist Church. Along with her parents, Eliza was preceded in death by one son, William Elkins, two sisters, Charlotte Baldwin and Margaret Chiarizia. Along with her husband, Eliza is survived by two sons, Joseph Daniel Wall of Jenkins, Ky., Roger Dale Johnson of Jenkins, Ky., four daughters, Donna Kay Sehorne of Lexington, Ky., Dianna Louise Ratliff of Shelby Gap, Ky., Rhonda Jean Kennedy of Jenkins, Ky., Jolene Elkins of Jenkins, Ky., two brothers, Joseph Vanover of Montague, Ca., Wayne Mullins of Lorrain, Ohio, one sister, Rosa Reed of Lorrain, Ohio, nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, host of loving nieces, nephews, and church family. Visitation will be Monday at 6p.m. at Burdine Freewill Baptist Church. The funeral will be Wednesday, 4-29-2009 at 11a.m. at the Burdine Freewill Baptist Church with Benny McCall and Teddy Tackett officiating.
